Health Insurance

At Healthy Insurance Dude, we are dedicated to providing comprehensive insurance solutions that cater to your health and financial well-being. Our mission is to ensure you have the coverage you need for a secure and prosperous future.

Group Plans

These are often considered the gold standard in health coverage, but they come with a premium price tag. If your employer is covering your plan, you're likely in a great spot! However, if you're paying the full cost for your family or are a business owner covering yourself and/or your employees, there may be more affordable and effective alternatives available.

ObamaCare

Marketplace Plans

These plans offer some great benefits, especially if your income qualifies you for government subsidies (funded by taxpayer dollars) to offset the high costs. Typically, these are HMO or EPO plans, which may not provide coverage when you're traveling or offer out-of-network benefits. When these plans are the right fit, we’re here to help you secure them. But if they don’t meet your needs, we can guide you toward other options.

Underwritten PPOs

When designed properly, underwritten plans can offer coverage similar to a group plan at a fraction of the cost. We pride ourselves on being experts in crafting and placing clients into these plans. This is often achieved by forming a group through an association, allowing you to join and benefit from lower rates. We're happy to explore if you qualify for this type of coverage.

"Junk" Plans

We categorize indemnity plans, short-term plans, and health share plans as "junk." While they might be suitable in rare situations, they're typically not the best option for most families. If you do choose one of these plans, your agent should thoroughly explain the coverage details and limitations. These plans might make sense if you’re between enrollment periods, have pre-existing conditions that limit your choices, and need temporary coverage until you can secure more comprehensive insurance.

Age 65+

There are options for those age 65+, including marketplace plans, group plans and the most common being Medicare.
Medicare is a federal health insurance program primarily for individuals aged 65 and older, as well as for younger people with certain disabilities or conditions. It consists of different parts:
Part A covers hospital stays and inpatient care. Part B covers outpatient care, doctor visits, and preventive services. Part C (Medicare Advantage) is an alternative to traditional Medicare, offering all-in-one plans through private insurers. Part D covers prescription drugs. Medicare doesn’t typically cover all healthcare costs, which is why many individuals choose supplemental coverage to fill the gaps. It’s important to understand your options and select a plan that suits your specific healthcare needs.
